The Envirothon is a team based competition where middle or high school students put their knowledge of forestry, wildlife, soils and water resources to the test. The event provides a platform for students to study environmental science topics and develop skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and public speaking. Teams of five students (grades 6–12), supported by one or more coaches, can compete.
The winning High School team will be eligible to compete in the 2026 International Envirothon Competition, taking place in Mississippi, July 19-25th. Scroll down to learn more!
The St. Croix Envirothon Competition will take place on Friday, May 8, 2026!
Training Dates Available: March 21 & 28, April 11 & 18
*All teams will receive training on topic areas from the USVI ReGeneration Corps!*

Students learn about wildlife ecology, species identification, adaptations, and human-wildlife interactions, emphasizing habitat conservation and ecological balance.

Students work with professional foresters to understand forest ecosystems, learning species identification, forest dynamics, and sustainable management techniques.

Students study marine and freshwater ecosystems, learning to assess ecosystem health by identifying aquatic organisms, managing watersheds, and mitigating non-point source pollution impacts.

Through interactions with soil scientists, students examine soil characteristics, structure, and conservation methods, gaining insights into how soils impact urban, rural, and agricultural systems

Teams delve into pressing environmental challenges, analyzing real-world problems and exploring decision-making complexities. Using knowledge from these topics, teams collaborate to address a real-world scenario and deliver an oral presentation on the topic. This year's topic is Non-Point Source Pollution: It Begins at Home!

The winning USVI Envirothon team ages 14-19 will be eligible to compete with the rest of the USA, Canada, China, and Singapore at the International Envirothon Competition on July 19 - 25, 2026 in Mississippi!
Registration and Travel fees will require fundraising.
